High School English Language Arts (ELA), High School Latin, and Sixth Grade Teachers  

Teachers are responsible for developing curriculum based lesson plans, supervising students both in and out of the classroom, and maintaining up-to-date teaching techniques to provide students with a quality educational experience. Experience with AP instruction, Google Classroom, and other technological resources to integrate into the standard curriculum is a plus.

Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in education with concentration in subject area of desired position; masters degree preferred. Two years of teaching experience required.

English language arts teacher expectations: to create an environment which allows students to think critically and independently; to teach students to read literature closely; to foster engaging discussions in class; to help students follow a clear, structured writing process; and to adapt classroom instruction to various learning styles. 

Latin teacher expectations: give students the foundations of Latin grammar and the tools necessary to read and translate Latin passages; introduce students to the study of Roman history, mythology, culture, and daily life through lectures and supplemental readings; and emphasize a mastery of English grammar and syntax through the study of Latin. 

Grade Six teacher expectations: provide instruction in all content areas establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, assessments, and homework assignments that measure progress towards academic standards, adapting teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests, and creating a positive achievement-oriented learning environment.
